Worldwide Shirts uses direct-to-film, commonly called DTF, to reproduce photographs, colorful logos, illustrations, gradients and detailed artwork on many popular apparel styles.

Your design is professionally printed onto a specialized transfer film. An adhesive is applied, and the finished design is transferred to the garment using controlled heat and pressure.

DTF produces crisp, colorful designs without requiring traditional screens or limiting the artwork to only a few colors. It is especially practical for individual shirts, small batches and designs containing photographs or detailed color.

1. Tell Us About Your Project - Send your artwork (via email or text) or describe what you want printed. Include the quantity, garment type, preferred colors, sizes and deadline.

2. Review the Garment and Artwork - We will help determine an appropriate design dimensions, placement and printing method for your project. Basic artwork preparation (15 minutes) is included for straightforward projects. We accept digital files or camera-ready designs. Additional charges of $12.50/half hr. may apply for complex alterations like dimensions or proportions, or transforming images or text).

3. Approve the Details - We will produce a digital proof showing your design at actual size with proper formatting. plus pricing based on the approved garments, artwork, quantities and printing locations. Production begins after the proofing, order details and payment requirements are approved by you.

4. We Print Your Apparel - Standard orders are generally completed in three to five business days. Rush production and same day printing must be confirmed and rush surcharges will apply.

5. Pick Up or Arrange Delivery - Orders can be picked up at our Lansing store by appointment. Shipping or delivery options may be available at an additional charge.

For the best results:

• Use PDF, SVG, AI or EPS files for logos when available
• Make sure you have permission to reproduce the image

Images from social media, websites and text messages are often compressed. They may look clear on a phone but become blurry when enlarged. When possible, request the original from its creator.

Custom Printing Without a Large Minimum Order

You do not need a large event or business order to have a professionally printed shirt. Worldwide Shirts can produce one personalized garment or a small coordinated batch using the same DTF process as our larger orders.

Standard custom-printing orders are generally completed within three to five business days after artwork and garment approval. For Worldwide Shirts production scheduling, business days are Monday through Saturday.

Most custom orders are picked up at our Lansing store. Custom-printing orders that require shipping include free standard shipping.

Need custom shirts sooner than our normal three-to-five-business-day schedule? Premium same-day DTF printing may be available for qualifying orders placed by phone or in person and picked up at our Lansing store.

Same-day shirts currently start at $25.99 each. Other garment colors, extended sizes, additional print locations and special requirements may increase the price.

Both methods reproduce detailed, full-color artwork, but they work differently.

DTF printing applies a durable printed transfer to the surface of a shirt or other garment.

Dye sublimation infuses the image into the coating of a compatible mug, glass or plaque. The finished design feels smooth because there is no separate layer sitting on the surface.

We use DTF primarily for apparel and dye sublimation for specially coated drinkware, plaques and other compatible products.
